The Australian Government has finalised arrangements to support the implementation of the memorandum of understanding entered into between the Australian and Vietnamese governments to support citizens of Vietnam to work in the Australian agriculture sector.
The arrangements will allow up to 1,000 Vietnamese nationals to be in Australia at a point in time to undertake short-term and long-term agriculture related work for up to 4 years, to be employed in primary industry sectors.
The expression of interest (EOI) process was held between 26 August and 27 September 2024. The EOI process is now closed.
Employers seeking to recruit workers from Vietnam under these arrangements are required to meet certain eligibility and selection criteria.
Further EOI processes for Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme employers may be undertaken in the future.
Queries regarding Vietnam labour mobility arrangements should be submitted to (PALMscheme@dfat.go.au).
